OVERVIEW

1.    How did you came to the leather industry?

My grandfather had a tannery manufacture. I often went to visit him. I saw and witnessed various processing operations, I was also doing some work there. So the tannery became something familiar to me daily, year by year. I attended the economic high school, statistical-accounting section. In the 10th grade, I started to practise at my uncle’s tannery. With this opportunity, I started to carry out the tannery work I was payed for. Family financial needs obliged me to work also during holidays. At the end of high school, I knew the tannery work. I was working in a family business, my uncle needed and trusted me. My mother also worked at the company. I saw a future for me in the tannery. In these conditions, after the baccalaureate and two years of post-secondary school, in order to qualify as a skilled worker, I decided to continue with the tannery. So, in 1993 I became a tanner.
